crossing the Border
We are ready to go at Narbonne (South France)
She is ready to go at Berlin (..the fastest trip so far (thx to the Deutsche Bahn ;-))
another spanish Beauty .. a Lunchguest at a lonely parking place (and yes, german chicken is welcome even in spain ;-))
and the following is a sign of some kind of ritual which the cats around my first flat invented ..(they really loved my bike ;-))
..and of course, if i would be a cat, i would also prefer a soft (at least compared to a car hood) and warm (the engine needs around 2 hours to cool down) sleeping place..
...but first i would not leave treacherous footmarks, and second i would not go mad with the plastic cover of the owner (one morning it looked like a net (more holes than anything else .. must have been a horrible dream...;-))
..but because the parking place of the 2. & 3. flats were really *dangerous* (humans this time), i searched & found a nice & dry place in a garage .. no drunken humans, no rain and last but not least: no tired cats ;-))

alicante - berlin
2528 km, 4 days, 2 tires, 1 driver, 0 degrees
22.03.2002 still in alicante .. does she know what i have in mind for the next 4 days ? I guess no ;-)
evidence part 1
the first night in barcelona (we arrived late ... then it took me 3 hours to find a free & reasonable priced room for me (i got the keys at 24:00..its the hostal in the background) .. and 15 minutes to find a garage for my bike (i thought this to be necessary, after some spaniards told me, that it is a rather dangerous area (especially for foreign vehicles))
second night i spend in orange (france) .. they have some ancient sites there .. (thats an old theater)
as you can see in the picture.. i improved in the matter of "where did i sleep".. i was lucky, got the last free room (at 22:00)
third night, back in germany .. freiburg .. and guess what .. as a difference to spain & france, here it was no problem to find a youth hostel (cheapest, but not the worst place of this trip)
worse was the weather: i had some hoarfrost (rauhreif) on my bike.. in other words: it had some degrees BELOW zero .. brrrr!!! it stayed the whole day like that .. depending on the area the temperature was between (-3 and +3... even some snowflakes later on) ..and we still had to drive more than 800km .. i learned something about "coldness" that day

but you cannot imagine how it feels, to pass the city signs of berlin, after such a trip..
..i couldn't imagine before, but i can tell you: it was worth it ;-))
